I somewhat streamline the entire process by having a majority of it scripted or at least partially automated. The "CoverMontage" image is of my own creation, using other tools for diagnostics purposes. Windows will then show those images accordingly like so: Note about step #3: Windows, and certain apps, looks for special named files like "folder.jpg". "Metatogger" again to add the album cover, as well as to save a "folder.jpg" (a copy of the album cover) to the album folder that the music resides in."Album Art Downloader" for visually searching for and downloading high resolution album covers."Metatogger" for MusicBrainz scraping of song/album info. For music, I do augment this with two additional tools in a somewhat 3-step process: There is one exception, and that is how I handle music. Everything else is just making certain that the files are in appropriate directories, and I let Plex handle the rest. Currently, my media management system is Plex. I only manage thumbnails and other metadata in metadata management apps and services. I also gave up a long time ago, and resided to do things certain ways that would have consistent results that didn't cause me to waste my time and effort. And even then, nothing changed.Īs a last ditch effort I basically fucked some more with Icaros by checking and unchecking thingies, but to no avail.Įdit: the Shitstain in the string is just a meme, I don't even know if that channel exists, lol It obviously didn't work (fml) so I deleted all thumbnails and temporary files from my PC, re-started 'explorer.exe' and refreshed the folder containing the videos yt-dlp downloaded. Lurked on Git and I found a post where an user said that Explorer is generally trash when it comes to thumbnails management, so I downloaded and installed 'Icaros'. Problem is: Explorer doesn't show the thumbnails that yt-dlp downloaded.Ĭhecked with 'Mp3Tag' and the thumbnails do exist and they are effectively embedded in all videos. mkv and "successfully" embedded the thumbnails for every single video from the channel. I was downloading all videos from a YT channel yt-dlp automatically converted the. Yt-dlp -f "bv*+ba" -embed-thumbnail -embed-metadata -download-archive FILE Shitstain.txt -o "%(channel)s/%(title)s.%(ext)s"
